God's Grand Finale to Our First Year of 4/5ths

What an outstanding finale! This weekend marked the 4th and final 4/5ths for 2009. Our November service worship was marked by a month of outreach to our neighbors in God's name. We began with Warming the Homeless and Grace Ministries. On Thanksgiving Day we hosted a record number of runners for the Humble School 10k. We concluded the month with 13 servant packed missions on Sunday the 29th. Thank you so much to all of those who have come out to serve in 4/5ths this year. Your willingness to live into God's commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves has made all the difference in our pursuit of spreading joy, hope, and love in Jesus' name!

4/5ths August was a blessing for all...




Even with all the business of end of summer vacations, road trips off to college, and back to school preparations,we had an impressive turnout for 4/5ths August. Hundreds showed up to bless others and to be blessed as Crossroads stepped out to serve our neighbors in Jesus' name.

What's Special About the 4 Months with 5 Sundays?

Just this very second I want you to stop and I want you to think what images come to mind with the word "church." Do you see a building, a bricks and mortar house of God that you attend on Sunday mornings? Now I want you to take all of those images of what church is and I want you to put them away somewhere. Because worship as you know it... is about to change.

We're introducing 4/5ths as a new way of being church at Crossroads. Throughout the year there are four months which will have a fifth Sunday. Four times a year worshipping God in ways that will transform us and the world through acts of service. Instead of coming to weekend services on that fifth Sunday we will go out and serve on those weekends.

Our 1st 4/5ths Service Weekend happens this month on March 28th and 29th. Here is a good video to watch before heading out to your mission...
